Mold?

I just found out that my SIL's apt has mold-- they are getting an in-depth report back on Friday.

I was there last weekend for several hours, ate a meal there, etc.

Does this pose any risk? I guess it depends on the mold, but it's not like I live there-- and the exposure was for a limited time.

Re: Mold?

I wouldn't worry too much. Mold is more of a problem with long term exposure!

Re: Mold?

We had black mold in our house so I had to deal with this and a baby.

She can do a blood test to test for mold in her blood. She would have antibodies if she was exposed.

We had to do it for my son since he had been sick for a long time and he had to check his blood for exposure.

They will know from the blood test.

They can even take a blood sample when the babies are born to make sure they are fine.

I was really asking for me-- and my exposure to it after being there for a few hours, etc. We don't know the extent of it yet. My SIL is not pregnant.

Of course, I am not an expert by any means, but I think you will be OK. I work in a building that has had extensive mold issues and many people in my building have had babies with no problems. Maybe you should run it by your doctor just to ease your concerns.

I feel like if you were sick from it, you would know it. I had a bad reaction to mold where I was living, and there was no doubt about it! But, you can check with your doctor to be sure.

Re: Mold?

I am going through this right now and while long term exposure to mold may harm you it will not cross the placenta. Long term exposure for you can cause allergies, neurological issues etc. You were probably not expose dto it for lomng enough so I wouldn't worry
