Going into labor on a certain day
OK, I know that the babies will come when they are ready to come, but has anyone every gone into labor around a certain date they were hoping to deliver?
My dd is 12/30 (maybe a couple days before) but I am seriously hoping I go into labor a couple days before Xmas so we can be home in time for the holidays.........

I would rather him come on time and or near his original DD. I would just like to be home for Superbowl. DH too.

everyone is different - some go early, some late...I don't think there is really any way to determine until you get closer to your due date.

I'm due 2/9 and have reminded my husband that I could very well have the baby on Super Bowl Sunday. His response was "Well, they have a TV there, don't they?"

I really wanted to go into labor on 10/1, to be sure I wouldn't have to go back to school before the winter recess. I had DS on 10/2. DH said he wasn't surprised since I always seem to get what I want

I thought exactly like you with my dd...my daughter was due 12/28 I wanted more then anything for her to be there for Christmas...I set myself up for a HUGE disappointment...I was really disappointed when she wasnt there for christmas...then she wasnt there for new years...she finally decided to make her entrance 5 days late on 1/2/08...honestly now I couldnt be more happy for this Christmas...she will be almost one and it will be her very first Christmas and she will have a blast with all the wrapping paper and empty boxes!!! (im sure she will like the toys and stuff one day lol)
So please dont get your hopes up too much! it may happen, but it may not if it dosent next Christmas will be sooo much fun for you!

I had days I wanted to avoid. DS was due 5/3, but I had a bad pregnancy and my doctor started preparing me at 35 weeks that I may have to have DS. I just begged her to get me past 4/4 and 4/6 b/c my grandparents died on those days.
Luckily I made it to 39 weeks and DS was born on 4/26, which is also my dog's birthday

I'm due on 11/18 and hoping he's here by Thanksgiving. Since he is already measuring big I don't think I'll have this issue...now I'm afraid he's gonna come tomorrow and we are so not ready!!!
The only date I am praying it doesn't happen is 10/26 - my MIL's birthday (who I'm not a fan of)

He says thats fine but forbids superbowl sunday. his response was "He will stay home if it is superbowl sunday especially if his team makes it" He was kidding i know but i could just imagine that he would be more into the game rather than the birth of his son. UGGHH

Think I'm right there with your DH---except I'm hoping my baby boy comes right on Super Bowl Sunday---I'll be so into the game, I'll forget all about the pain of the contractions!!! I'll need something intense to keep my mind pre-occupied, and the Giants in another Super Bowl would be the perfect distraction.
