Spinoff to BOTB post
If you fail your 1 hr, do you HAVE to do the 3 hour. I mean can you just skip it. I still dont know of I passed or failed at this point just thinking ahead.

Unfortunately unless you fail with a totally miserable number they make you do the 3 hour - I mean you can refuse it - but I guess why would you unless you plan to just treat as if you have GD.

I am pretty sure your doctor will discharge you as a patient if you refuse it and don't plan on treating it. No doctor wants to take the risk of having a patient sue them because they didn't force them to take the 3 hour.
I didn't even fail the 1 hr, my number was just not what my doctor wanted to see and she made me take the 3 hr.

you can refuse any medical treatment but be prepared to change your diet and act as if you have GD. MY next pregnancy, I will refuse this test as I had such a difficult time with it....

Just because you fail the one hour doesn't mean you will fail the 3 hour. I had GD with my first pregnancy and when I failed my one hour this time around I asked if I could just skip the 3 hour and treat myself like I had GD again. My doctor said no and I'm glad he did because i passed.

I kept saying to myself I refuse to take the 3 hr if I fail, but the Dr. is just gonna give me grief so Im not even gonna say anythign I'll just take the damn 3 hr test now and hope for the best. The lady on the phone said my numbers were "a little high" that's kinda vague but I'm hoping that it will be enough for me to pass the 3 hr.
