Failed my 1 hour
I just called to find out that i failed my 1 hour glucose test.. and all the nurse would tell me was that my numbers were very high.. I friggen fasted from 2pm the day before and took the test.. I only drank water after 2pm and had the test at 9am the following morning... I am soo pizzed now i have to take the 3 hour.. and i have a bad feeling i am going to fail that 2..

I did it yesterday, My office goes on the "no news is good news" policy. she said if in 7 days I hear nothing, not to call.

my office is soo bad with this stuff. I went this past saturday.. and i called today to find out the results.. you would think that if i failed.. and failed so badly.. they would call and tell me i have to take the 3 hour.. no i have to call to find out i failed..my next appt is not for another 2 weeks with my ob..

i heard you are not supposed to fast for the 1 hour. your numbers might be high b.c you fasted and your blood sugar level was low and it caused you to spike...
i failed my 1 hour but passed the 3 hour..

WOW...sorry
WHy did you fast for more than 18 hours? This may be why your numbers are so high. WHen you fast you cause your body to release glucose stores which can result in higher blood sugar numbers. Most practitoiners recomend you eat a sensible breakfast before the exam
Follow the instructions your Dr. or lab gives you for the 3 hour. Hopefully, the spike was due to teh fasting and your 3 our comes out good.

Why did you fast for so long? Were you told to fast? That may have contributed to the high results. Good luck with the 3 hour.

I'm sorry! I can't believe how many people on this board are failing this test!
I haven't heard anything from my Dr. yet. Maybe no news is good news?
