strep test
Can someone tell me what the strep test is like? Is it just a vaginal swab complete with speculum or do they do anything else while they are down there?

There are two swabs...a vaginal one, and a rectal one. Its done in less than 2 seconds. I had it done yesterday...nothing too bad (even though with my first I didnt remember it being a rectal swab...so I was a little surprised )

Its just a cue tip that they swab in both places "down there" not bad at all!

They don't do and internal swab. Its external.

I had a UTI at 9 weeks and it was caused by Strep B so I already know i'm a carrier so I saved myself a vag and anal swab!!!

Thats a good question. I'm not positive, so don't quote me on this but I think NOT......
I think the risk of the strep B transfer is only for a vaginal delivery but I'm not positive on this.

You might want to get tested anyway. I had it during a UTI and then at 36 weeks I did not.

You might want to get tested anyway. I had it during a UTI and then at 36 weeks I did not.
really......I was told if I have it now it won't go away for my midwife because I keep getting UTIs from it.... Oh man I thought I was going to get out of the vag swab!!!
