When is the next sono after LEVEL II
tommorow i have my appt and i will be 23 weeks on friday. Im just curious as to when they will do another sono to see my son is growing like he should be. I am going to bring up all the pain im having and the fact that today and yesturday he feels like he is gonna fall out of me. No pain just feels like if i sit on toliet he might come out. I just wonder how they go so long without looking inside to see what is cooking.

Many Drs. don't do another sono after the Level II.
Originally I was only getting a 12 week and a 20 week, but due to my PAPP-A blood results from my ultrascreen, I have to have 3 more sono's in my 3rd trimester.
I would ask your dr.

My doc doesn't do any after the Levl II unless medically necessary...so I haven't had any since 20 weeks

I don't have another one unless there is a problem or concern.
However, I do have another one scheduled towards the end of the PG b/c I have a low lying placenta.

My new doc said there was normally one more at 36 weeks to check growth at his office..but ill be having two cause i started with them today and they wanted to do their own Level II

They usually don't do one after 20 weeks unless medically necessary. We had one towards the end, to measure the growth bc my belly was measuring big. Then I just had 2 biophysicals where they also do sonos.
As for the baby feeling like it is going to fall out, that is normal-I asked. Get used to it, because it gets worse!

32 week sono for me, but i have fibroids, don't know if that is the only reason or what.

I had one at 36 weeks and will have another at 38..they want to check his size and amniotic fluid levels again

I didn't have a Level II. I actually had an earlier anatomy scan at 16 or 17 weeks. My next sono is a growth sono at 34 weeks. Every doctor is different.

I had one today (26 weeks) and will be having one every two weeks, but I am having twins. At this point though, the babies are really too big to see anything. I really had no clue what I was looking at.

I had a fetal echo with DS and many sono's but only because I had a complicated PG.
With this baby the next will be a fetal echo again and then probably (hopefully) no more

You may get a growth sono towards the end of your pregnancy and a few if you are overdue.
Some doctores will not do another one if it isn't necessary.

It stinks really bad but a lot of Dr's dont offer any more sonos after level II. I am lucky because I am an IVF pregnancy and I am seeing another Dr. besides my obgyn and he is asking for a growth sono every 4 weeks from now on. But if your insurance will cover it, I would ask the Dr. to give you one.

I am having my growth sono next week. I will be 30 weeks. They usually order this LIJ told me between weeks 30 and 32. I *think* there may be one more around 36 or 38 weeks.
My doctor told me that most insurance companies don't cover more than the Level 2 and growth sono unless you are high-risk or having some other kind of issues that crop up suddenly.

This shocks me. HOw does DR. H. know everything is ok in there. How do we know my baby boy is growing on schedule and hasn't developed anything for example cardiac wise. I guess its just he worrier in me. So the next time ill see my little buddle of joy will be if i do the 3d sono.

They measure your belly each week and that will tell your doctor if the baby is growing on schedule. As for development, most of the issues with that are caught at the Level II or anatomy scan.
I wasn't supposed to have another sono after my anatomy scan, but my DS was measuring small and b/c of other issues, my dr was concerned about IUGR, so I had a growth sono at about 35 weeks. Worst sono ever b/c I was SOOOO stressed about it. I'd much rather not have had one.

After my level II at 18 weeks, I had a growth sono at 32 weeks where I found out my baby is measuring very big. Therefore I have to have another at 36 weeks (next week) to check on him again. Then we will see from there!
As for the measuring of the belly, I think my doc started at my 20 or 24 week appt.

They started measuring my belly at 25 weeks.
Try to relax, just think about our parents most of them didn't have any ultrasounds/sonos. Your body is designed to make a healthy baby
