How Am I Supposed to Respond to This...???

I don't think I'm THAT big for 5 months. Plus, I'm 100% belly at this point. But I've had numerous people make comments like, "You're really big!" or "You're ___ months? Sure you're not having twins?" or "Oh, you're due AFTER ____ (co-worker)?" Then a good friend, when I emailed belly pics, just wrote me, "Wow! You look way more preggo than I did at this time!" ... How exactly do people expect me to respond to these statements?!?! Sorry...just needed to vent!

I think you look great! Don't pay anyone any mind. People will say the stupidest things...during this time.

Example: I was told yesterday I looked like an Oompa Loompa..and I am not kidding. I'm only 15 weeks and yes my belly popped faster, but the comment was TOTALLY unecessary! Mind you it came from a supposed "friend" of mine.

I think it is much better to be on the bigger belly side than on the smaller side. At least you know your baby is growing!

I'm beginning to feel very self conscious about my lack of belly. The ppl who know I am pregnant always tell me how not pregnant I look.

You look great. I remember taking a vacation with DH's family when I was about 5 months preggo with DS. I got comment after comment about how big I was. I was literally in tears by the end of the trip.

You know what? I wasn't THAT big and I didn't even get THAT big by the time DS was born.

I know it's hard, but just ignore it and remind yourself that you are growing a baby and that, in itself, is a wonderful thing!

I agree with the PP, I didn't show until literally 6 or 6.5 months but still gaining weight, so I had to tell ppl I was pregnant and not just fat...you look amazing and you are just all belly...I think ppl think they can get away with saying the dumbest cr*p when you're pregnant and we can just take it....not realizing that murder should be legal during these 9 months!!!!

Its amazing how people think they have the right to comment. Like we have signs hanging from our necks that say:

"Please tell me everything you're thinking. I want to hear all your thoughts regarding my body and looks."

What it should say is:

"If I wanted to listen to @ssholes, I'd fart."

I get the same thing. I teach in a high school, and kids say what ever comes to their minds. Everyday, I hear"You are huge!" or something like that and it kind of makes me feel self conscious like I am eating too much. An adult at school saw me eating an APPLE and said, "Damn girl, you better slow down! You are gettin huge!" People don't get that you can't make whatever comments that you want about a pregnant woman's body!

Strangely, I think people mean it in a good way when they say stuff like this. its just in your belly and they are talking about your baby growing and not you. i can't wait! i'd say "Thank you I am so excited!!"

Seriously?? I can't believe people think that have the right to say this stuff to us pregnant women! At least it makes me feel a bit better knowing we have the same due date and are the same size!!

I'd smile, look right at them, and say. "and why would you tell me this? Is that supposed o be helpful?" Then, I'd just fall silent until they felt compelled to speak....
