Even more good news to share!!!!
So, last night I received an email from my landlord telling me that he needs me out by January 1st (long story as to why....but his ex-wife and daughter are moving back in and he wants my apt as a "playroom"). So, I FREAKED OUT!!! I have no money and nowhere to go with my preggo belly, two dogs, and a cat. I cried, vomited, threw stuff, and had a horrible night last night trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do.
Fast forward to this afternoon, I called a realtor friend of mine who showed me a few condos for rent a bit further north (into Orange County)---but they were just a couple hundred dollars more a month. So, we looked and I found a place that's TWO BEDROOMS and TWO FULL baths with a walk-in closet in the Master. So, I decided that I'd do whatever necessary to get this place because it's a great school system, the baby will have a "real" nursery/room, lots of storage space, a "real" kitchen, a fireplace, etc....I spoke with my baby's father who said he'll do anything it takes to make sure his son is raised in a clean, healthy, and safe environment and he's willing to pay for all the fees, deposits, etc...to get me moved in by November 1st---before I'm too big to don't want to do anything and before the dead of winter comes!!!!  I couldn't be happier right now!
Baby boy (Mikah Jakob) is going to have his very own room with lots of room to grow, my dogs are going to have a cute little yard to play in, I have a fireplace AND TWO BATHTUBS to soak my sore back and feet in, and all for just a couple extra hundred dollars (and a 20 minute commute vs. the 10 minute one I had). So, my landlord has actually done me a favor by kicking my preggo butt to the curb!!!
So, assuming this actually works out---the last three weeks or so have turned out to be the best three weeks of 2007 AND 2008 combined!!! (except for the day I decided to keep my precious baby boy after finding out I was pregnant---that was best day #1)

Sounds like everything worked out for the best, and the timing couldn't have been better! Do you definitely have the place, or are you still waiting to hear?

Going to show the place to baby boy's father tomorrow....and then my realtor friend is going to make the owner an offer. The offer should be accepted, since it's been listed for rent for a while now, and I'm not offering much less than what is asked. But, as soon as the lease is signed---I'll let everybody know!!!
I'm hoping for a moving date of Nov 1st....so, I want to act fast!

The condo complex is in Harriman---about 5 minutes from Woodbury Commons. I actually know the area very well...I grew up in Sullivan County and moved to Rockland County 10 years ago. And, being that Orange County is right in the middle, Middletown/Monroe/Woodbury have been my "stomping grounds" for quite some time.
I'm hoping to have bought my own house by the time Mikah is old enough for school, but in case I don't and I'm still living in this place, it's in M-W School District, so he'll have a good (and safe) education. The plan is to finish my R.N. degree by August 2010, work for a year as a nurse, and then go to nurse anesthesist school for 28 months. They make around $200K in the city, so I'll be able to give my son a great life. That's the "ultimate plan" right now anyway....one day at a time.
I just hope this works out and I have a signed lease by the end of the week. Will certainly keep everybody updated. Thank you all SO MUCH for all of your support and well-wishes during these trying times for me.
PS> To the February Mommies----no need to worry---I will still be coming to the GTG on Nov 9th!!! I wouldn't miss it, even if I were moving to FL!!!!
