gaps in wood floors?!?

DH and I had bamboo floors installed over the summer in our living room. We had friends over last night, and someone pointed out that there were gaps in between the floorboards. (Rather than connecting end to end, there was a space of several millimeters).
Did the floors contract b/c of the cooler weather? How do we fix this?!?

if it was humid when the floors were installed its very likely that have have contracted. they'll probably expand again in the summer. There's not much you can do about it. The opposite side of it is when flooring is installed in the very dry cool winter & when summer comes it expands & lifts up. All prefinished flooring is supposed to be installed with room to expand & contract.
