Cheeses?

Ok, so earlier I asked about meats, now I am curious about cheeses. What is the deal with "unpasteurized" cheese? What types of cheese are these? I have also heard "soft cheeses" are no good. Does this include mozzerella, gorgonzola, feta?? Are soft cheeses unpasteurized? I am not sure what to think b/c I hear different things.

Every practitioner is different. I would see what your practitoiner specifically recommends. The ONLY food restrictions I was given was no alcohol or caffeine and no dark meat fish such as tuna and makrel beacause of the mercury.

I eat everythign else.

Most cheeses are pasteurized or are made using masterurized milk, just check the label.

Again, My recomendations is see what your practitioner recommends because they all recommend something different!

i was told no unpasteurized cheeses (or dairy for that matter). most dairy that's sold is pasteurized, so you should be ok. the only places you really have to be careful are farmer's markets and little restaurants that might make their own or use local farmers. read the labels if you're unsure.

i was also told no bleu cheese because of the mold/bacteria in there. also, no cheese from the deli because they cut it on the same slicers as the meat and could get contaminated. i was told if i REALLY want some, ask them to wipe down the slicer and have it heated.
