When did you have your baby shower?

My mother is debating dates for me. One, December 6, I will be like 33 weeks and the other, Jan 10 I will be like 37 (due date Feb 1).

I thought after the holiday season would be better for most people but I wonder if it is really late for a shower?

Thoughts? When did or will you have yours?

I am due Feb 2.

I am guessing mine will be in January some time.

After posting on here the ladies reminded me that January would have better deals at places.

I will be about 33 weeks.... My shower is at the end on November and I am due in January.

Wanted to add...

37 weeks is cutting it VERY close. You wont be able to set up much in the house before the baby is born and you might need to supplement items that you need or didnt get after your shower. I think the Dec. 6 date is your best bet. You will have time to sort through everything, write thank yous etc before baby arrives.

I had my first one at about 28 wks and my second one at 34 wks last weekend. My mom debated having it at almost 37 wks but I'm glad she didn't bc I found out at 32wks that baby is measuring way ahead and could be here at any time. If it was later I would be worried I wouldn't have time to get everything put together and organized. Now my little guy will prob be late (best laid plans)!!

I had my NY baby shower on September 20th, when I was 27 weeks. It was a perfect time.

My NC shower won't be until November 22nd, which I'm really bummed about. I'll literally be 37 weeks pregnant. I was kinda po'd at my sister for scheduling it that late, especially because of my back injury, I'm ALREADY getting very uncomfortable and I'm almost 31 weeks.

My Texas shower, I had yesterday. I am 25 weeks today. I didn't want to travel out of town late in the pregnancy. My NY shower will be the first week of December, I am guessing 33 weeks. FYI-I am delivering at 36 weeks.

I will be 28 weeks. I am due in the middle of Jan, and my shower is in two weeks. Its somewhat early, but since twins usually come early and I knew I had a higher chance of going on bedrest, I wanted to be able to attend and enjoy my shower.

Mine will either be at 34 or 35, not positive which weekend my friends picked...

Im gonna be a house and have nothing to wear, but its the holiday before that.

If I were you, I would go for the 6th. People will be out shopping already anyway. I thought about having my shower that weekend too (I'm due 12/24) but thought it was cutting it too close!

Mine is Dec 6th and I will be 30 weeks pregnant...

Mom wanted it before the holidays and since it is in CT with many guests coming from NY she didn't want it when the weather could be really bad...

I'm due the day before you, and having mine 11/16...I'll be about 28 weeks. We wanted to do ours before the holidays.

If you have a choice earlier is better. The earlier it is the more comfortable you will be sitting there and opening gifts. Also if you have any complications you could end up on bed rest or go early so 37 weeks is pretty late. Plus the advantage of having it earlier is that you will have time to assemble whatever you receive if you want to, be able to make a list as to what you still need and purchase it before the baby comes.

I'm due with twins on March 12th and my shower will be in mid-January

I am "due" Jan. 19th But I have a scheduled c section jan. 12th My shower will be Nov. 2nd (less than 3 weeks away) I will be 28 weeks.

37 weeks might be really tiring for you. I was 31 weeks and it gave me plenty of time to wash clothes, bedding and put together toys before DS made his appearance.

According to my MIL () I'll have my shower at 32 weeks. Thanks, beotch! (fyi-she ruined the surprise in case you didn't catch my biitchfest a few weeks back!) My family does NOT know so any lurkers on here, don't tell them!
