Washing hand knitted blankets....
I got lots of hand knitted blankets at my shower. When it comes time to wash them, how do I do it without ruining them?

Hopefully people realize they needed to use washable yarn. My Mom makes a lot of hand knitted items and always uses washable yarn. I wash in cold and then hang dry although I'm sure you could put them in the dryer too.

I handwash with woolite and then lay it flat to dry about 90% and then throw it into the dryer to "fluf" on low heat for about 10 minutes......

Re: Washing hand knitted blankets....
people most likely used a baby-friendly yarn - and in that case it's probably acrylic and safe to put in the dryer.
if you suspect they used wool (not sure why they would though) then i would line dry until it's 905 dry and then finish it in the dryer.
