FT working moms... when do you shower?

I went back to work FT starting this past monday. My husband has does rotating shift work and starts midnights tonight. So he won't get home until around 7:20am.

Now my son gets up at 6am. Although today it was 6:40. My question is... when do you ladies shower?

Do you get up before they get up to shower? Do you do it after they get up? Or do you shower at night?

I don't work f/t, but I think p/t mom's and SAHM's have the same challenge

When DD was an infant she would go in the bouncy seat in the bathroom with me. As she got older it was the crib or high chair. Now (almost 18 months), I put the gate on her room and she plays in there.

I shower at night--mornings would be crazy for me if I did it in the morning

She slept until like 7:30 when I went back to work so I woke up around 7 to shower before she did. On the days where she woke up before me, I put her in the bouncy seat with a toy inside the bathroom with me while I showered. Now as a toddler (She is 2) she hangs out by the doorway while I shower and get ready. I get ready in the bathroom with my robe on (hair and make up) and while I get dressed I put on sesame street or something.

HTH. When they are younger it is hard b/c you need your sleep too. I know someone who was up at 5AM everyday to shower and get ready. I could not do that as hard as I tried...I was too exhausted.

I'm a PT working mom - and on the days I work I take her in the bathroom with me with some toys. Although lately I have been letting her hang out in our room and I leave the bathroom door open (our bathroom is attached to the bedroom).

Not that I work but when I had to shower, I but B in her bouncy and let her play in the bathroom.

I shower at night normally, but lately I've been waking up really early to jump in the shower before she wakes up.

In the mornings - when he was younger it was before he got up.

When DH is traveling, I get up well before she wakes up in order to shower and get ready so we can get out the door on time. Normally, DD wakes around 6:30. I get up at 5:30 to get my day started.

It's a little different for moms who work outside the home. If I was a SAHM I would probably do what I do on the weekend when DH isn't home, I either get up before DD's expected wake time or I wait until she takes a nap.

either the night before and I set my hair, or that morning but my DH gets up at 5:30, so I shower then while he is getting the dogs walked and fed.

At night before I go to sleep.
I tried doing it in the morning with DD in her bouncy seat, but I wasn't getting out of the house early enough.

i work part time and on the days i work, I shower when i get home from work (I put DS in his crib with some toys) or wait till DH gets home so he can watch my DS.

My "plan" is to get up around 5:30 (which was normal for me when I was working anyway). Shower and get ready.

He's been waking up around 7/7:30 - so that should work for me. I need to be out the door by 6:45 - hopefully he stays on the schedule he's been on.
My MIL will be coming to my house to watch him for a few months, until he goes to family daycare in January. Then I'll have to come up w/ a new "plan" LOL

When i worked i showered before DD got up in the am. If she woke up, DH would tend to her and we'd switch, she'd hang in her bouncy seat or PNP.

I shower before DD gets up in the morning. I just can't start my day without a shower.

Mostly in the morning, but on the occasion that I shower at night, it makes my morning so much easier.

Sometimes I shower at night. If I do shower in the morning, I go in when DS is having his morning bottle and watching cartoons. It gives me enough time to get in and out before he starts getting into everything.

WHen I go back to work in Nov, I plan to do it at night because I cant even imagine having enough time in the morning to take care of myself & the baby. I have to be out of the house by 6:45am.

I'm not a shower at night person at all.

I'm lucky that DH is home with me in the AM and we switch care of DD so we can both get ready (and we leave within 20 minutes of each other, so I'm reallllly lucky).

As for making sure you have enough time to get your son ready-- there may be times that unfortunately, you may need to wake him. It happens here, and I hate it every time. Most mornings DD is up at 5:45, some mornings she sleeps later and I need to wake her (although it's not very common lately). It stinks, but it has to be done. Baby should get on a routine eventually of knowing he has to be up early...DD does, even on the weekends

I get up at 5:15 am and shower before the kids get up for the day.

I shower in the morning b4 DD gets up. She actually is usually awake but can entertain herself in the crib for about 30 minutes.
