Absolutely. Too many "bad" booboos the only few times I got lazy.

Of course I do!
Whites (bleach)
a load that we do not dry (I guess thats delicates? Or things we don't want to shrink)
then everything else in warm
Been working well for the past 14 years I have been doing it for myself.

(only because he has his own hamper and therefore no sorting involved)

OMG, I have to sort out all our laundry, its not good to mix them all together, the whites will start to look dull, and I have different detergents for my whites, darks, towels and sheets.

Yep! I have 3 of these in the basement:
IMAGE
*white towels (sanitized & bleached)
*colored towels (sanitized)
*cotton underwear, work t-shirts, cotton socks (hot wash, cold rinse)
*work denim (warm wash, cold rinse)
*pants (dress denim and casual pants - cold wash, cold rinse - damp dry)
*dark shirts (cold wash, cold rinse - damp dry)
*hand washables (bras, wool socks)
*sheets
*blankets
*DD's laundry
*DS's laundry
What do you mean by "sanitize" and you sound like my mother  and she is the one who taught me how to do laundry! She has such a specific method to laundry!

I surely do...whites, darks, lights, towels and sheets, yucky clothes (ie. painting, working, etc.)

nope! i'm WAY too lazy to sort.. plus i hate doing a lot of small loads and using so much water/electric. even with our HE machine, i have to think a little bit green 
everything gets thrown in the same load and washed on cold... i've had no problems at all. i ususally do the dogs stuff separate though.

I wash towels separate in hot, but everything else, including whites, go in together. I wash on cold and nothing ever runs.

I do sheets and towels together. I usually dont separate the clothes, except if I have something I have never washed before and its a dark color I usually pull it out and try to make sure nothing white goes in that load. I hate doing laundry so I am pretty lazy about it.

Reds/Pinks
I turned all my fathers underwear and socks pink once with red and dark clothes I threw in the same load when I was 16....he was NOT happy
