NPR but it's time I come clean...
This is not meant to start a pity party.
I have lied about a big factor in my life. I lied to my parents, lied to my friends, and I have slowly started telling the truth.
I was asked numerous times if he was abusive.
I told everyone no, and laughed it off.
It was all B/S. He was....
Verbally, mentally, and at times physically.
When I thought I was suffering from PPD... it wasn't that.... I was dealing with Battered Women's Syndrome.
I needed to get this out as a step towards healing, and I'm sorry to whomever I lied to.

I know how hard it must be to write that- let alone say it out loud to those who love you and who you love. But for doing what you need to do to take care of yourself and your little girl.

Can I ask you..I have a friend going through something silimilar.
Usually after that its not easy to walk away...how did u just pick up and leave or get the guts?
I know she won't do it..I would think it would play on the self esteem and co-dependant issue...
Any insight would be great for her! thanks!

As long as they are happy for the support you are getting.
Some day you will realize what a truly strong and courageous woman you are. You saw what was happening to you, and you GOT OUT!! You came back to New York to family and friends that love you instead of staying with someone who didn't deserve to have you or your daughter in his life. That took guts and strength. It's so easy to put up with nonsense because you're afraid of being deemed a failure. To know that success is actually walking away is tremendous.
To now post and acknowledge why you left is yet another sign of how truly strong you are, and it demonstrates how far you've come since coming back.
You go girl!!!!!!!!
