Locking in rates

What needs to happen for you to be able to lock in to a mortgage rate. The rates are pretty good now. We have the engineer looking at the house today, and if all goes well, hopefully the house will be oursChat Icon But when can you lock in to a rate? Thanks!

Re: Locking in rates

Most banks won't lock a rate in until you have a fully executed and signed contract from both sides.

Re: Locking in rates

Our bank allowed us to lock before we sent them the contract but it had to be dated the day of the lock to be valid...Full contract is when both the seller and the buyer have agreed to and signed the contract..
