Transition to the crib and swaddling question

We have DS in a bassinet in our room. Eventually, he will obviously have to be moved to the crib in his room. Our room is very close to DS's room, so we would hear him even without a monitor, but I'm still nervous about the transition. I do feel that when I put him in the crib when I need to do something, he seems more comfortable compared to the bassinet. My question is when is a good time to make the move? DS is 6 weeks - the bassinet is pretty small so I cannot imagine him in it that long and part of me wants to get the transition overwith and get used to it. Of course, it's scary not having him near my bed, but I want to do what is best.

Also, I have stopped swaddling him. He seemed to enjoy it, but I feel he is breaking his arms out and when I do the actual swaddling he flips out. So I tried a halo sleep sack and I think he is ok with it. When do most people stop swaddling? I would not mind continuing to do it, but am afraid the longer I do it, the harder it will be to get him used to not having it.

I just stopped swaddling at 10 weeks and could have stopped earlier!

My son is three months nad I still use the miracle blanket!

We stopped swaddling at about 10 weeks and he moved to his crib at about 3 months. We moved him to his room once he was sleeping through the night.

My DS was in his bassinet until about 4-5 months and when we transferred him to the crib he didnt like it at all it was torture for about a week and then he got used to it and now he is fine with it.. i think we stopped swaddling at that time also

DS hated the bassinet. We moved him to the crib at 10 weeks, but we swaddled him for 4 months! It was the only way he would sleep. Once he started unswaddling himself....we stopped.

We moved DD to her crib at just over 4 months and swaddled till 5 months.

We moved DS at 8 weeks to the crib and he was fine with the transition.

We swaddled until 4 -4.5 months, but he would wake himself up either flailing his arms or scratching his face when we didn't swaddle him. We stopped when he kept breaking out of it and it was impossible for him to stay in it.

DS is just over 3 months. I am trying to get him used to his crib for naps so that I can get him in there at night. I'm hoping to have him in there by 4 months...and hoping he'll sleep through the night.
I'm also torn as to keep swaddling him. He goes to sleep easier when we swaddle him, but once I put him in the crib I want him to be out of the swaddle. I've been trying to get him used to not being swaddle during naps but then he doesn't nap as long.

We moved DS to the crib at 8 months and stopped swaddling at about 3 months because he kept complaining and getting out of it.
