Peeling Skin (3week old)
So Arianna's been peeling. Not as bad as the first few days which I heard was normal since she isn't floating in fluid anymore......
But today I worry..
She's got a large area (well for her its large - smaller than the distance of your pinky middle knuckle to the tip of your pinky) of skin that looks like it peeled.
The skin looks almost like it would after a sunburn or the result of a blister. She's had no blister though.
Its right at the crease of her leg by her pelvis (inside pelvic area).
We change her a LOT and keep her clean and well doused in A&D. Not over done. We normally put the A&D on the diaper itself first.
She's not in pain and will let you touch it, clean it and wipe it.
Do you think its just more peeling?
anyone experience this?
TIA

Re: Peeling Skin (3week old)
G had this when he was a NB. He was having a reaction to the diaper. We changed brands and used only soft towels to clean & bathe him. It helped.
If you are worried about what it might be doing to her though, call the Ped.

My DS is peeling a lot too! Use Baby Lotion or Cetaphil on her. I am sure it's totally normal. His skin is peeling all over

Maybe the diaper is rubbing up against that part of her skin causeing it to be irritated and peel? Do you use sensitve wipes or diapers? I would put some Aquafor on there a few times a day and see what happens.

Re: Peeling Skin (3week old)
Emma is a little over a week old and has had some peeling skin, although its all over. I've been using aquaphor on her and it seems to be helping.

How long did it take to notice it?
I ask because this came on in the past 24hrs and she's been through at LEAST 100+ of the same diapers by now.
I have an appt with the Ped next week (1month visit) Im hoping to keep it dry and clean and see if that doesnt help but knowing me, I'll get super nervous in a few days, freak and call the Ped (AGAIN!! I've called already like 5times for other stuff). Figured it was worth asking you ladies first this time!
