headache advice?
I have had bad headaches for the past few weeks, off and on, but unfortunately more on than off lately. What do you guys do for persistent headaches. As you all know, tylenol does jack! I have been drinking lots of water, not eating chocolate, sneaking in a little caffeine here and there, but to no avail. Any advice would be great!!!

Re: headache advice?
I had really bad headaches from about the 9th-13 weeks. Sometimes I couldn't even get out of bed. My dr. told me caffeine and tylenol, but really nothing helped. Finally they just went away on their own.

Re: headache advice?
I had the same problem [still do] but now I take tylenol with codeine for them, which is ok for me since I'm 33 weeks. Please let your OB know what is going on b/c in my case, I was sent to L&D to make sure all was ok. My BP was high also. Some things that I tried that didn't work but may help you:
- Frozen veggies on your head - Tylent extra strength, rapid release: 2 pills every 6 hours - Sudafed [thinking it was my sinuses] caffeinated coke and coffee - increased water consumption as much as possible -take a nap!
I hope something works for you! Either way, tell your doctor. It may be an indicator of a serious condition.

Re: headache advice?
I agree with Gabi about mentioning it to your OB. I had a debilitating headache a few weeks ago that lasted for days (also tried everything - sleeping it off, tylenol, cold compresses, sudafed, etc) and when I finally called my doc on the third day they wanted to see me right away to rule out high BP and potential pre-eclampsia. It was not that...still don't know what it was...but I was prescribed Fioricet that I am now to take as needed. It's basically a super strong tylenol that has caffeine in it. It finally did the trick...although I don't know if it was that, or if it just went away on it's own. Take care of yourself!

Re: headache advice?
before trying drugs, drink WATER. Lots of it.
Until I was about 35 weeks, just about every negative symptom I experienced could be tempered by drinking more. When I was 16- 20 weeks, I believe I was drinking 4 liters (1 gallon) a day... that prevented most queaziness and headaches. after that, I tacked on more as my aches and pains, swelling or headaches appeared. It worked every time.

I go through headache periods too.
I try to drown myself with water and if that doesnt work, I take tylenol
