Need Health Insurance Experts. What is covered/not covered

So I am getting hit with bills after having a c section. I got a bill for $255 for a tissue exam and $307 for the surgery itself that my ins comp is not covering. So everyone tells me to find out from my ins comp if they are willing to pay anymore. But i am not sure exactly what questions to ask.

I feel like if i just say "are you able to pay anymore?' obviously they will just say no, right??

I would contact them. I had problems with some labwork when I was pregnant and the insurance company actually helped me get the lab to resubmit the claim and it was covered.

Call and find out why you aren't covered. Sometimes insurance companies deny claims that they shouldn't and you may have to submit the bills yourself to get them to pay. Also, you want to ask how and when your "out of pocket" expenses work and when your stop loss kicks in (if you have one.)

I've had many issues with bills getting covered due to someone's oversight. Every one of them wound up getting covered once I called them.
