Teething and fevers-help.....

Does your child get fevers when they are teething? How about *strange* poops? DD has a low grade fever (101)and has already pooped 3 times by noon today (usually she just goes 2x the WHOLE day) and they were kind of loose. She;s cranky but eating and drinking fine.

DH mentioned she ate an azzload (pun intended ) of apples yesterday, so that could be the reason behind the poops.

The reason I ask this is that she's cutting 2 molars and 1 tooth (poor kid ) and I'd rather not go rushing to the PED whuile we're in the middle of a tropical storm......

ABSOLUTELY!

I just posted about this recently....

K was uber stuffy congested, and had loose stool like crazy. Then her top 2 teeth came down and out, and it all went away!

When she cut her lower 2, she had a low grade fever along with the rest of the symptoms as well.

Yes and yes. Low grade fevers and loose poop have happened during teething with DD. Although as you said, the apples could definitely have helped move things along. Our ped said anything over a 103 fever is generally not teething (DD had one over that and that's when she had the UTI), so it sounds like it's just teething related. I'd keep an eye on her temp, just in case.

As long as she is eating and drinking and the fever doesn't get any higher I wouldn't go out in bad weather especially with you being pregnant!!
