Nope!! No Irony to be Found Here!!
I misread the quote below... it was not all stated by Sarah Palin so my question of seeing the irony is moot.
Thank you all for your responses!! 
Palin states: "We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby..." Isn't it wonderful that we live in a country in which Bristol (and perhaps Levi, too) had the right to make this decision, rather than have the rest of us, through our government, make that decision for them?
Does anyone see the IRONY of this statement??
If I didn't know she was Pro-Life, I'd SURELY think she was PRO-CHOICE.
Thoughts?

I agree with you, if we didn't know we'd probably think she was pro-choice.
Unfortunately examples like this highlight why this particular issue is such a challenge for die-hard supporters on either side to find common ground. They both passionatly believe its all or nothing.

I say this as someone who is pro-choice.
I don't find acknowledging that someone has a choice to be ironic just because you don't think that choice should exist. So, no, I don't really find it ironic. I think people are going to rip to shreds anything this woman says (as they do with most other politicians, of course).
If I were against drinking and thought it should be illegal, I could "I am glad my husband chooses not to drink." I don't think that would be ironic just because I don't think he should have the choice to do so legally.
Again, I say this as someone who is pro-choice and pro-responsible drinking. (And who strongly feels that the federal government has no business in the abortion arena... but that's a whole other debate...)

I find this ironic........she is happy that HER daughter was able to make a choice to HAVE her baby, but others who feel they do not want to have their baby should not be able to make the choice and have an aborition?

I don't know if completely contradicts what she stands for. she said she was proud her daughter is having the baby. she is proud of that choice, not the choice to have an abortion.
it sounds "pro-choicy" but now that i think about it, i think she is proud of the TYPE of choice that she made given that in this country she has the option to make the other choice (abortion). she doesn't say that she agrees with the other option.

I think she should have said "In our family we acknowlege that a baby is born at conception, and our family is supporting Bristol and Levi and their choice to marry and raise this child."

Absolutely, shows me that whats good for the goose is good for the gander.
Now because she is actually experiencing the situation maybe she knows what its like to have to make that choice, not just preaching about it 24/7

That sounds pro choice to me. If the government outlaws abortion they take away the choice from those who would chose it. I wonder if Sarah Palin really believed in that statement.

Yeah, I agree. I am really confused by her statement. She isn't saying how happy she is that the girl is having the baby (pro-life), but that it is so wonderful that she has the choice (pro-choice).
