38 wk appt on Tuesday - Can I request an internal?
Sounds crazy I know but with soooooooo much cramping going on I want to know if I am dialating or not. They only start internals at 39 wks but I'm impatient and I want to know. Would they do it if I asked ya think?

ya know, I was wondering the same thing... when do the internals start?
I know with my OBs' practice you can request an internal w/o any problems at all.
I would definitely tell them about the cramping and then ask for one. I doubt anyone would question the logic to why you're curious about what's going on in there!

I'm surprised that you haven't had an internal yet. I started getting internals every week from 36 weeks until now (I'm 39 weeks). For me, they don't hurt. It is just uncomfortable for about 5-8 seconds and then its all done. I say to ask for one. If they say no, then they say no. At least you will know you tried.

I think if you tell them you've been cramping and want to know they should def do it with no problem. Most drs do them around 36-37 weeks anyway. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!
