has anyone ever been to 300 in melville (bowling alley)?
It looks really fun on their website. Do you have to reserve lanes? I want to try it with a group of people. Thanks!

i went there for the first time like a month ago...its really fun. we went on a random saturday nite--just 4 of us.....there were plenty of lanes available.
its pretty nice in there and state of the art. you reserve your lane and the # of people, then tell them your shoe size...turn around and go to the shoe & ball counter. then you figure out what ball you need by testing out the sizes and stuff at the counter. instead of running around the bowling alley testing out ball after ball. you get a "lane specialist" who basically takes care of you the entire time you are bowling. they will help you set up the game...and they take care of food and beverage orders for you.
i really liked the service of the place--it did'nt feel like a typical bowling alley. we ordered a bunch of food and lots of pitchers of beer. (love that they had a special metal core in the beer to keep it nice and cool.)
when we were done---the lane specialist handled the check--no need to worry about going to the counter and return your shoes and balls. they grabbed it up for us and we paid and left without having to return anything. (you don't have to give a shoe either at this place)
totally recommend it!

we love it, but it s VERY expensive. It cost us $125 for 5 of us (3 being kids) to bowl 2 games This included a few appetizers and 3drinks, but that is too expensive, I heard Syosse is much cheaper

I second the fact that it is too expensive. However, you need to consider what you're going for. Are you going out just for a night of drinking and entertainment? I come from a family of bowlers and went there for my brother's 30th birthday. With one drink one appitizer and two games of bowling it was nearly 80 dollars a person. And dont forget that you need to tip the lane attendant.

yes! I have been there and it's a great time! I honestly do not know about reserving lanes - I went as part of a birthday party - but call and find out!
Have fun!

I haven't been there personally but my DH has gone once maybe twice and he is an avid bowler but he really doesn't like it there!

Thanks everyone! It does sound kind of pricey for bowling. Maybe we will wait and go as a group for DH's b-day.

we go there all the time on the weekends.. its easy to get a lane.. but very pricey!! most bowling alleys are getting that way with the "rock and bowl"
