i am a carrier also and I know exactly what you are going through. I was freaking out.
However, the chances of your Dh being a carrier are very slim. Also - even if he is, it doesnt mean 100% that the baby will have it. The baby will def be a carrier but there is only a 1 in 4 chance that the baby with actually have CF
So get DH tested as soon as possible, I have a feeling it will be a positive outcome and then you can relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnnacy!

he is getting tested tomorrow...so hopefully by next week we will know...thanks again ladies for your support...it is really helpful to know i am not the only person that is a cf carrier

I had a feeling this might be why she called. It has happened to many of us on here.
My DH is a carrier, I am not. Odds are your DH is not a carrier. Also even if he was, there would only be a 25% chance the baby would actually have the disease.
You are not alone. There are so many of us who were in this position .

D, baby would not even def be a carrier. Even if both parents had the CF gene, there would always be a 25% chance the baby isn't even a carrier.
If one parent has the CF gene, there is a 50% chance the baby will or will not be a carrier.
So odds are great all will be ok anyway!

DH is a carrier for CF, I am not. So of course we did not know there was a risk of CF carrier for DC until after. We had to go get the sweat tests w/DC & he is also a carrier. In order for it to be a concern, according to the genetic counselor we saw, both parents would have to be a carrier of the same "type" of CF gene for it to be a concern.
Definitely talk to a genetic counselor in addition to your OB.

DON'T WORRY! Same thing happened to ME! It was the 1st test to come back, the odds of DH being a carrier as well is so slim. Instead of waiting for the lab slip I had DH go the next day to our family doctor and we had the results not too long after that he was negative!

My SIL is 12 weeks pregnant and she just found out she is a carrier. My brother was tested and everything is ok. I hope the same results come for you!!

I believe so...you know they took some many little containers of blood i really should have asked what all the tests were but i didnt

Great news! DH and I went through the same thing...I was a carrier of CF and we had to wait TWO weeks to find out if he was and he wasn't! They do say it is very rare that both are carriers, but glad to hear it! yay!
