Spinoff: What age can night terrors occur?

I swear DS is having them. But he's only 11 months. Is this too early? He will be in a deep sleep, then wake up hysterical. He will be fully awake for hours, almost afraid to go back to sleep. But once we calm him, he is okay if we are around and wants to play. Could this be night terrors?

im not sure if those are nite terrors kelly but joseph started his at 7 8 months.

i know he sarts freaking out and screaming kicking..... sometimes he never really wakes up he calms down and goes back to sleep... sometimes he wakes up gets a bottle and goes right back to sleep..

If he wakes up, I don't think it's night terrors. DS used to get them when he was really young (starting around 6-7 months) and he would NEVER wake up. I would try to wake him and he wouldn't - it would actually make it worse. His eyes might be open, but he wouldn't wake - he would just cry and scream and look right through us as if we weren't even there. It's really scary but he doesn't even remember it the next morning. Pediatrician told us to just watch him to make sure he doesn't hurt himself - do not pick him up.

I had them when I was school aged.

Sara had them for a few months after she turned 2 - they since went away. She is 2 1/2 now
