Opinion please. Is a Clown necessary?
We are having DC birthday at the Queens county farm. Do you think we need a clown or are the animals enough? They get to feed the animals, get a tour and a hayride(s) plus other games we have planned.

A clown is NEVER necessary. IMO it is always a bonus. Of course - in my opinion a party in and of itself is not a necessity so you'll have to take my opinion from there.
But it sounds like you already have activities for the kids that come with the party package, you are going to have cake for them - and if I am guessing correctly probably pizza or something for lunch. Also - birthday parties at 'places' tend to only give you an 1.5-3 hours of their time. Adding a clown might just put the whole schedule on too much of a rush.

 too funny.
We have the place for 5 hrs including clean up but may block it out to a 3hr time line for party so I guess I am leaning to no clown too.

Not necessary...we didn't have one at my son's party...when there was down time my BIL stepped in and had the kids play duck-duck-goose and a bunch of other things. They loved that!
