I was going to register for two different types of bottles.....but I'm not sure if you can't switch bottles. Will the baby get confused??

My DS didn't get confused. We used Avents, Playtex VentAires standard and wide and he never had an issue.
We also used Avent pacifers. But when he was a newborn, he'd take nuks and soothies too.

Well, I was going to register for Dr. Brown's bottles and the drop-ins.
I really have no explanation to why registering for two...I just heard so many GREAT things about Dr. Browns, so I figured I'd get them and I like the drop-ins. I don't know if I answered the question too well....

I registered for 2 b/c I didn't know what he would like. I got both from people whose kids liked each...

Re: Can you use two different types of bottles?
Dr.Browns to Playtex could be tricky unless you get Dr.Browns Wide Mouth. The nipples are totally different. Some babies couldn't care less while others will refuse.
If you are not concerned about BPA I'd go for the Dr.Browns Wide Mouth (they don't make BPA free wide mouth yet) and Playtex or Born Free and Playtex. Born Free has a wide nipple like Playtex and is BPA free.

Re: Can you use two different types of bottles?
I switched between Dr. Brown's and Avent for awhile and then went with the Playtex drop-in's because of BPA. DD never knew the difference. I also change her pacifiers depending on which one is handy and she is fine with it.

Re: Can you use two different types of bottles?
DD switches easily, but generally she has a preference for 2 or 3 different types. Definitely try out a few to see what works best.

Re: Can you use two different types of bottles?
I personally didn't switch back and forth with bottles but I know people who have. I also registered for 2 different types of bottles. U never know what ur DC will prefer.
I ended up switching brands about 4 times because of gas and reflux issues so I am glad I had on hand more than 1 type of bottle.

I agree. We use the tall neck Dr. Browns because the baby took to them very well and we find them a lot more comfortable to hold, plus it is easier to see how much he had. The measurements will be more accurate on a narrow bottle. However, there are very few other bottles he can take well. We do have some Born Free bottles but the nipples are very different. It takes him a few minutes then he adjusts but he is a very easygoing baby.
