My OB's advice at 36 weeks

Was to buy Evening primrose oil and have DH put it on his "little buddy" and then BD. Apparently the oil/semen combo has some of the same hormones they use to induce only in much tinier quantities. I am completely not effaced or dilated and apparently my cervix is extremely posterior which makes internals horrifically painful. I was seriously in a ton of pain during the internal.Chat Icon

you can also take evening primrose tablets orally...... But the compbination of the evening primrose oil and sperm release prostaglandins which will help to soften the cervix............

Really put it on your dh.. my Ob recommended for me to take orally myself with my dd. It was a guarantee, but it did work for me. I had my dd the day after mydue date.

DH went and found the Primrose oil at Walgreens, I had assumed it would be tough to find but no. Do you guys think this would start working ASAP?

The evening primrose oil will gradually start to soften your cervix but will not put you into labor. The purpose of it is just teh cervix softening that will help you to dilate easier and hoepfully faster when you do go into labor......... You can also just insert a capsule up there instead of having to BD with DH all the time.....they shoudl be jelly capsules that dissolve.....

Good Luck!
