DD is almost 10 months old, should we get a puppy?

We have an opportunity to get a lab puppy. DD is 10 months old. We want to TTC again in a few months.

Am I nuts to want to get a puppy now?

Yes, totally nuts.

If I did not have my 2 dogs before DS was born, I would have waited for him to be at least 1 year. But with you TTC, it's a LOT of work so I would say to postponne until #2 is 1.

My dogs were a bit over 1 year old when DS was born.

I'd say to wait too, especially since you w/b TTC. A puppy is very active; takes a lot of work & would probably be super jealous of the new baby in the house when that happens. A lot of time/energy go into a puppy between training, his schedule, feeding, etc.

I'd personally wait until my "last" child was 2 but that's just me.

Thanks, I needed a reality check. We'll wait. The puppy was so sweet but I know we'll find the right dog for us someday.
