Moms in the 2 under 2 club

DH and I have been tossing around the idea of TTC which would make us a member of the 2 under 2 club if all goes well.

My question is this: If you could go back and do it over again would you have spaced your kids out further apart?

I know I'm ready to have another one but in the back of my mind I keep feeling like I should enjoy DD more and wait to have another.

Help me out here girls....give me some insight!! Chat Icon

Not a chance. I loved the difference in ages. In the beginning it was difficult but now, they're easy as they play together (albeit princess versus indiana jones)

Re: Moms in the 2 under 2 club

My first 2 are 22 months apart and it was the best decision IMO. Granted it can be somewhat of a challenge at times (wouldn't it be regardless?), I am happy that they are this close. My next one is due in October and my middle child and this baby will be 26 months apart. If we hadn't moved cross-country, I would have gotten pregnant sooner!Chat Icon

Re: Moms in the 2 under 2 club

yes and no....

AT first, because DS was such a cranky baby, the first 6 months were SO hard on me/us.

Once he turned around and became mobile...OMG....they are instant playmates. DD LOVES him, he ADORES her. He cries....she kisses him. He crawls up the stairs and to her door. He watches her take a bath or they do it together.

He's a crank when she's not around. He just loves to be around her, and the two of them crack each other up. I love watching them interact.

My 2 youngest are 22mos apart. If I could of changed it, it would to be closer not further apart.

Mine are 20 months apart and DD will be one month next week. Having a 20 month old and a newborn is not easy, but in a few months and years to come, I am looking forward to them playing together!!!

Mine are exactly 2 years apart. I didn't find it hard at all at first. It was when they were 1 and 3 that it got tougher!! But looking back, NO, I wouldn't have spaced it any difference for the two. HOwever, in thinking about a 3rd, yes, it will be spaced much more than 2 years.

Nope not at all... We're at the point now where #2 understands what you tell him to do and is getting to be independent. I love to see how they interact with each other.

Currently, ds is 2 months and dd is 22 months. It's really hard sometimes but I wouldn't change it if I had the chance.

My girls are 20 mos. apart. I planned it that way and I would not change a thing.

JMO, but I don't get that "taking time away" from the older one as a reason not to TTC. No matter what the age difference, you'll always be taking individual time away from the older one. Yes, when they're younger, maybe they won't "get it," but they'll also never remember life before their baby sister or brother. Also, by that logic, subsequent children are never enjoyed to the fullest as their older siblings were...and I don't agree with that.
