I am so tired (sorry, long)
Ever since DS learned to roll onto his belly, I do not sleep anymore. He can't seem to figure out to turn his head to the side and so he starts crying because he is on his belly and is uncomfortable with his face in the mattress. I go in, roll him onto his back and then he starts crying for his binky that he keeps spitting out. Then, when he is fine with the binky, he rolls onto his belly again Process starts all over again. This goes on all night. I think I may have gotten a total of 2 hours of sleep last night.
DH hears nothing when he sleeps so him helping is out. He snores so bad that he has been sleeping in the guest room. He did not even hear the dog barking to get out of the guest room at 3:30 this morning. I think the dog can't even take the snoring.
There was one hour where DS did not cry for help but my fear of him smothering himself with his face in the mattress wakes me up. Then I see him on his side with his face so close to the mattress (I have a video monitor) that I freak out and feel like I need to keep checking on him.
Before I know it, it is time to get ready for work.
I don't think I am ever sleeping again.
Please tell me this phase will go away. Please tell me that he will learn to turn his head to the side and stop putting it in the mattress. Please tell me that he will stop wanting his binky all night long.
I can't function like this. I have Epstein Barr and lack of sleep does not work well for me. I just want to go to sleep now and I have to be at work. I miss being out on leave where I can nap.
Thank you for listening.

He will learn to turn his head very soon- he sounds a lot like my boy. My PT recommended increasing the tummy time during the day to help.

DH drops DS off at daycare in the morning and tells them to practice this during the day. Do you think I need to look into PT?

Re: I am so tired (sorry, long)
Our ped referred DS to a physical therapist about a month ago. He appears to have torticollis (one side of his neck has stronger muscles than the other) and he favors the one side, and also has issues with tummy time and keeping his head up, and turning his head from side to side once he is on his tummy.
He has been much better, he goes 1x a week, and we do exercises at home to stretch it between his appts.
I learned that many babies with acid reflux have this problem.

Zach has acid reflux. Maybe I need to look into this. We have a well check next week but not sure I can do another week of this. Thank you for the info.

Re: I am so tired (sorry, long)
I have a similar issue, although DS can turn his head to the side and sleep, he can't seem to get off his belly, so last night, and a lot of nights before this, he woke up crying at 3am. I go in there and he is annoyed that he can't move. Okay so I flip him try to soothe him. Pick him up swaddle and rock him, all while he just contines to scream so I gave him a bottle and 45 minutes later he was asleep.
I feel for you though because DS is only waking 1x per night. I dont know what to do either, I am just giving DS extra tummy time during the day for longer periods in hopes that he figures it out.
