Stroller Feedback

I feel like we have been looking at strollers forever, and as soon as I settle upon one, some big minus becomes clear.

Here is what I want:

*A stroller that is great for long walks (on pavement)
*A stroller that is lightweight
*A stroller that folds compact and doesn't take up a lot of room in the car
*A stroller with a big carry basket

I just can't seem to find one that exists and meets all these criteria. Maclaren's have some of these things, but don't have big baskets. Gracos have the basket, but fold up large and seemed kind of heavy.

Does anyone know of an option that would meet these criteria? It's looking like I'll need two at this point!

Not too many if ANY lightweight strollers have a big basket That was one criteria I REALLY wanted but gave up, b/c ot simply wasnt found.

I ended up with the Wendy Bellisimo lightweight from BRU. I love it, its teh same style as the Maclaren yet much less $$$.

I have the inglesina Zippy - great for long walks- I can't believe the difference in feel between that and the snap and go! It is lightweight and folds up compact...

Small basket though...who knew that a basket would add so much bulk and weight?

I don't think you will find a lightweight stroller that is good on pavement, with my Maclaren Jack feels every little bump I think.

Go with the Metrolite. It's light - good on pavement - folds up easily - not as compact as the Maclaren but not bulky. Storage basket is a good size (even though I never use it)

My mother bought this stroller on Friday to keep at her house for when she have Ella over. It is very light and easy to manage.

Inglesina Zippy or a Peg Perego Pliko P3 or Aria.

I have the Zippy and so far love it (right now I use it as more of a pram though b/c I have the carrycot attachment).

I have a Peg Perego Pliko P3 and it is pretty lightweight and fits well in my car. It is good on pavement, and I mostly like it.

My 2 complaints with it are the basket stinks and I don't like the recline feature.

Size wise I guess the basket is OK, but there are bars over and around it that make it difficult to get things in and out. I use a Skip Hop diaper bag, so I can attach it on the handles of the stroller, rather than put it in the basket.

The recline mechanism frustrates the heck out of me. I feel like I never really feel it "catch" so I don't know if he is secure unless I look underneath, and it's hard to see even then. It seems sort of flimsy for the $$ this stroller cost, IMO.

yes, alot of lightweight strollers dont have a big basket. i have the graco metrolite which is alot lighter with a big basket. its i guess medium size when you fold it properly in your car.


i alos have the maclaren double stroller and hate it. it has no basket room at all.
its small and lightweight though.

Did you check out the Bugaboo Bee? It seems to meet your requirements...although it is pricey.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I wsih I could keep the Snap n Go forever, it really works for me.

You know, I should just get the Graco Metrolite since it meets more of my requirements than not, but it's a vanity thing. I just don't like the look of it (don't mean to offend anyone, this is JMO). It will take up car space, but that's the only other negative I see.

I have the feeling the Maclaren (which I love lookswise) will just be too small for me to take on walks and around town. Interesting to hear it doesn't work well on bumps--we have a lot of bumped up pavement around here. DH llikes the Maclaren, but then he won't be pushing it often.

The Bugaboo is too $$$.

I was thinking of the Pilko originally, but then I noticed the problem with the bars in front of the basket. And a couple moms I talked to said they didn't really like it.

Ahhh, to find the perfect stroller, so hard.

I have the Zippy and it's great. The canopy completely covers the seat down to the tray unlike other strollers so you don't have to worry about the sun in their eyes. Like others have said, the basket is small, but I really like my stroller and all of it's features.

I have agonized and agonized over finding the "perfect" stroller that won't break the bank. I have come to grips that it just doesn't exist!

In all honesty, I agree with you--wish I could use the Snap N Go FOREVER! It's the best! For now, I have been using the stroller that came with my travel system. I love it, but it's a bit on the bulky/heavy side. If I were going to buy a new one, I'd go with the Graco Metrolite.

I have the chicco trevi and really like it. The basket isn't huge but I recently found on a trip to disney that it holds more that you would think! It folds umbrella style and is lightweight. It has a tray for DS which is a feature we MUST have! Good luck on your search!

Have you check out the BabyJogger Citymini? Its not a true jogger, its more of an "urban" stroller---but its lightweight, folds super easy and handles amazing....I do wish the basket was slightly bigger, but it also has a pocket on the backCityMini

I was going back and forth between the pilko p3 and the metrolite. I finally decided on the metrolite b/c of the basket and I am so happy I did. I pack that thing sometimes! It's really not that big and bulky and it lays kind of flat in my trunk and I can pile stuff on top of it. One time when I had to go someplace with the dogs and DS, I fit it in the front passenger seat!

ETA, the metrolite also has rubber wheels which makes the ride smother, IMO.

Thanks for the extra feedback! I should look at a jogger, I wasn't really thinking of one, but it might work well. If not that, I think based on what people are saying, the Metrolite is the stroller for me.
