MS vs. No MS
I'm starting to notice a trend while reading this board. There are probably exceptions to the rule ....
- If you have MS you tend to eat less and not gain as much early on.
- If you don't have MS you tend to behave like you're in starvation mode and gain weight early.
I know I fit in the latter group since I've already gained 8 lbs. at 10.5 weeks!
Anyone else notice this?

Re: MS vs. No MS
I didn't have Morning sickness and I definately didn't gain weight early on. I have only gained about 10-15 and I am 25 weeks.

Re: MS vs. No MS
I didn't have MS and was in starvation mode. I slowly and steadily gained throughout the PG and now, with a week or two to go, I have gained 25 lbs. Not bad as this is what the doctor expected for me.

Re: MS vs. No MS
I don't fit your theory. I didn't have MS with either of my kids, and I didn't gain more than 2 or 3lbs in my first trimester. Gained a total of 30lbs.

Re: MS vs. No MS
nope, I don't fit that mould.
I had food aversions, yet never experienced nausea... First trimester I lost 5 lbs, and only regained them as of my 19 week appt. I still do not eat constantly or feel more hungry than usual. at best I have one or 2 small snacks (maybe a milk drink box) in addition to my regular diet.

Re: MS vs. No MS
actually, i dont fit that theory either
i have had a lot of m/s and ive already gained at least 5lbs - i havent weighed myself in at least a week; i'm too afraid
the only things ive been able to eat are carbs which my body does not process very well

I didn't fit your theory
I had no MS and I only gained 13lbs during my pregnancy. I gave birth at 33 weeks, and they say you gain the most in the last tri-mester, but I never got that far

Re: MS vs. No MS
I have had no morning sickness & I have lost about 9 lbs......I beleive this is due to the fact that I just don't eat as much as I did before my BFP & my body is work a lot harder & burning more calories. I hope to regain my appetite in the next few weeks as I enter the 2nd trimester.

Re: MS vs. No MS
I didn't have MS and didn't eat more than pre-pregnancy. I didn't gain anything in the first trimester. I popped late but gained about 38 lbs overall.

Re: MS vs. No MS
I did fit that. I gained nothing really for months. And it was because I couldn't keep anything down and after a while didn't want to eat anything because I knew I would just get sick anyway. I gained a total of 17 lbs which I gained manily after 5 months.
