Re: Do you really think the OPKs work???
I definitely know they do. The one's that worked for me for both of my kids were the Answer Ovulation tests. You get 7 in a pack for $11.97 at Walmart. They're not digital. Those are too expensive for me. When you get your positive, you'll know. With my 2nd one I ovulated late and was getting frustrated, and then one day I got that dark line. I don't recommend the Answer PG tests though. I've gotten false positives before with those. Good luck!

Kath,
I really like the digital. I was using regular CBE and what I thought was a the surge line (+OPK), I think was not. The digital really takes the guess work out.

Re: Do you really think the OPKs work???
I temped in addition to using OPKs. Yes- they worked. BUT there were a few times that I got +OPKs, and then had no temp rise to confirm O. I would wind up Oing later in the month. So they DO work in detecting your surge, but will NOT guarantee an O.

Re: Do you really think the OPKs work???
They were the only thing I used when we were TTC. I started out using the Clearblue non-digital but I didn't like interpreting the lines. So 2nd month I bought the Clearblue digital and loved how easy it was.

Re: Do you really think the OPKs work???
I do think they work, but as PP said, they don't guarantee that you WILL ovulate.
I know that for me, in our first month with OPKs I got a +OPK on CD 17, and then didn't get AF until 22 days later! So unless I had a 22 day luteal phase that month, I think that I geared up to O but then maybe something caused it to be delayed.
Other than that, I think they've been pretty accurate for me. We used them for 4 months. Obviously I didn't get pregnant though, so who knows what other variables contributed.

Re: Do you really think the OPKs work???
For me, the digital ones ALWAYS worked without a doubt. I used them in conjuction with being monitored by an RE through sonogram. When I surged, I would go in for my unmedicated IUIs which do not increase chances for conception over natural conception buy more than a percent or two.

Re: Do you really think the OPKs work???
Since my cycles were wacky, and I found out I didn't ovulate for more than 3 years, I went with the saliva ovulation kit. I was great for me, because it's reusable and I could catch the pattern since I used it everyday. If you have any questions on it, please FM me.

Everyone is different. If you find that the regular OPKs arent working the way you need them to, then I would make the switch. But others have gotten PG using them. I just could not interpret the lines well enough.

Re: Do you really think the OPKs work???
I used the digitals right away and I do believe they work because I also temp and record my CM. So far, for the last 2 cycles, the digitals have been spot on in conjunction with my other symptoms. I use the CBE ones. HTH!
