When do you start sharing a blood supply with a baby?

So I know if you're TTC, you try to be careful with your activities during the 2WW. But I always hear about people who were PG for multiple months before they found out. What happens if you drink alcohol or excessive caffeine or eat restricted foods before you know you're PG? Are you doing serious damage?

Personally, I wouldn't do anything differently in the 2WW. I had a few drinks during the 2WW and ate sushi right before getting my BFP. It's really too early to have an effect.

As far as restricted foods, alcohol and caffeine during pregnancy, doctors seems to differ in their advice. Some will advise patients to completely restrict these things while others may say certain things are ok in moderation. You need to do whatever makes you comfortable.

ITA!

If I had decided to give up sushi, caffeine, and alcohol during my 2WWs, I'd have about 8 useless months of not indulging for no reason!

I think it's somewhere around the 5th week-- but that's is technically like 3 weeks after you find out since your first two weeks are your LP.
