What is the difference...
... between heartburn and acid reflux? I have one or the other and I don't know what to take. I have burning in my esophogus

for burning I take Maalox..if my belly is hurting and i have burning then pepto..
if I can't decide which, I take Pepcid.

heartburn typically just feels like a burning sensation....
acid reflux - you tend to have what i call 'pukey burps'...where you burp and taste some stomach acid, bile or a teeny weeny bit of throw up.
prilosec otc is a GODSEND...but that can take a few days to build up in your system...

i always felt like the pink necca wafers tasted like pepto....

Okay -- I had heartburn then. Pepto is delicious. If it wasn't so weird, I would sip off the bottle all day

Try the supreme tasting Mylanta formula. I have horrific acid reflux and it helps better than all of the other OTC brands. Feel better!

I am alllll about Zantac 150. I take it as soon as I eat something "questionable"..it helps prevent all my acid reflux/heartburn issues.
It works rather quickly.

I have been having crazy heart burn lately and have been using Tums-- which only extremely temporarily relieves the discomfort.. I gotta get me some of this other stuff if it continues.
