To add a second floor, figure you will spend at least $100k.

Re: Has anyone dormered and extended a ranch
we are in the process of finding contractors to do this now. We are getting ridiculous prices of like $200,000 That price also includedredoing the kitchen but even if we skipped the kitchen the prices are outrageous.
We are going to continue to interview contractors. I'll let you know if we find anyone decent.

Re: Has anyone dormered and extended a ranch
We did this about 3 years ago. I would not recommend the contracter we used. When all was said and done we spent around $120K which included some additonal work on the first floor and it took about 3-4 months

Re: Has anyone dormered and extended a ranch
I have an expanded ranch but we bought it like this so I don't know prices. I like the expanded ranch. It's so easy being on one floor when you have children. I would like to add a master suite as the second floor one day.
