Anyone See Vertical Dark Line on Belly?
Has anyone noticed a vertical dark line from your belly to your navel?
I started to see mine at 6 or 7 weeks and even DH noticed!
My friend saw her line during the 3rd trimester. Why do some see it earlier than others? And what's the significance of it?

I don't have one yet at 19 weeks.
To add-I do have stretch marks though .

i am 23 weeks and i don't have it - but from what i hear, it tends to show up less frequently on women with pale skin, and i am casper-white!

Yes. I have one since early on in my pregnancy. I don't remember exactly at how many weeks I noticed it but it was definitely early. As my pregnancy progressed it got darker and darker.
So far I haven't got any stretch marks.

Yep, I've had a faint one since early on. It's called the linea nigra.

I am 32 weeks and i have it ever so lightly (shown up in the last 2 weeks). It's only from my belly button down though and i'm pretty sure i'm the only one who can notice it.  hopefully it stays that way!

I've heard about it. I'm 18 wks and don't see you one. I check every day to see....I also check for stretch marks, so far nothing.I am scared though.
My sister had a boy and she had the line. I am having a boy as well,so I am curious.

I wanted to add. If you are olive skin and darker you will def see it if you are going to get it.

yes, I saw one form around the end of the first trimester. it was light then and is still on the lighter side now (35w).

Its the Linea Negra. No real reason for it. If you look it up online it has no real purpose and most often disappears a few weeks after you deliver.
Mine is so faint you can't really see it.
Here is what I found on the American Pregnancy site:
Linea Nigra:
What is this? Linea nigra is the dark line that runs from your navel to your pubic bone. This is a line that may have always been there, but you may have never noticed it before because it was a light color. During pregnancy this line darkens and is possibly caused by the imbalance in hormones. It usually appears around the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy.
What can I do? There is nothing you can do to prevent this from happening, but after your pregnancy this line will fade.

i got mine at around 5 or 6 months but its very light (i have very pale skin) i dnt have any stretch marks yet on my stomach but i got some on my butt :(

At 31 weeks I still don't have it. I keep asking DH if it has appeared and nothing. I hope it stays that way.

Mine started to appear around 28 weeks. It's still very faint. But the million stretch marks are very clear!

Iam almost 33 wks and Yes I have one, it started a few wks ago just under my belly button but now I can see it above as well and a little darker.

Same here! It is called the linea negra, and from what I know is has to do with the pigmentation of your skin & pregnancy hormones.
