Just back from the RE
So, I just got back. The doctor did confirm that the last two cycles were early miscarriages based on the information I gave her.
I did a ton of blood work-- about 19 vials of blood!! And, she prescribed a progesterone supplement to use for the rest of my cycle (I o'd yesterday). If I don't get pregnant this cycle-- which I kinda feel like the odds are against me, cause I essentially conceived the last two cycles-- Anyway, if I don't get pg, I will have an HSG and all of my results will be back from the bloodwork, and DH will have a SA done. Then I go back to see her and we will come up with a more focused action plan.
She did say that it shouldn't take her long to get me pregnant. So, I guess that's good news.
So, I have seen a lot of girls on here talk about HSGs-- are they really THAT bad??
Also, anyone have any idea as to how long it takes to get SA results? Just trying to determine when DH should go and do it.

Re: Just back from the RE
Not sure where you went or who you are seeing, but i went to LIIVF and it took a week and a half to get him an appt to drop off his SA...they would only make appts some sats and during the week from 10:30 am -1pm....which i thought was very inconvenient (my DH works in the city)

Re: Just back from the RE
SA results come back rather quickly as they only have so little time to do what they have to do with it. My RE has an in house lab, so we had the results back within a few hours.
As for the HSG - everyone has a different experience. It's a very quick test, but it's uncomfortable. It wasn't painful for me, but during the test I had AF like cramping that stopped as soon as the test was over. Take a couple of advil or motrin about a half hour before hand.

Re: Just back from the RE
Thanks-- I have a req for him, all he has to do is walk-in to a Quest office. So, he can go whenever and wherever. Good to know that we can hold off until we know we need to have it done.

Re: Just back from the RE
I would call Quest. Only some of them accept the samples. Dh just had one and he had to make an appt. with Quest. I would double check before just showing up!!!

YES, make sure you call first! DH produced his sample at home and we were told that it had to be delivered within 30 mins....so we get to Quest and find out that they do not take SA samples and my DH had to run, cup in hand and speed over to another Quest to deliver the sample within the 30 min time frame!

Re: Just back from the RE
Can you always do it at home, or can you "produce" at the office??

Definately call them first. There were only 3 quest labs here in nj that took sperm samples. I would suggest seeing if your re has an in house lab and have your dh hand it over there

Well, I know the one I went to today does it-- but it's near the doc at Columbus Circle--- so dropping off is not really an option. I'll need to do a little research-- at this point, we are going to wait out my 2WW since that started today-- and then go from there. If he can do it over the weekend- that's best-- cause then we can drive somewhere.
