What would you do...

Hey ladies, i need some advice and i know where some of you might stand on this. DH are TTC as we all know. A lady at work. actually my boss has nursery furniture that is only 18months old that she is selling cuz her daughther is now in a toddler bed. IT is absolutely perfect condiiton, and exactly what i want. Comes with CRIb, Changing table dresser, and glider with ottomon. All the wood matches. She has all teh paper work and reciepts. She paid 2500 and is only asking for 800. She purchased it from behrs. I feel like it is a great oppurtunity to save $$ but on the other hand feel im jumping the gun. I know some are very supersticious and say it is bad luck to bring stuff into the home and especially since we arent pregnant yet. Deep down i know we will have our baby one day no matter what it takes. Should i go for it is i guess the question im trying to get at?

That's a really good deal. Almost too good to pass up. If you were 8 mos pregnant I'd definitely say take it.

Well you said in your other post that you are 8DPO, right? If she can wait for you another few days until you see if you get your BFP this month, then I *might* say go for it.

But does your boss know that you are TTC? If you are PG this month, did you want to tell her that soon?

Under other circumstances I would say no, pass on the furniture. I am superstitious when it comes to those things. I would just chalk it up this not being THE furniture set for YOUR baby. There will be other deals, other furniture sets, other people that may want to buy those gifts for you...

I understand its bad luck and all... buttttttttttt can you store it at someones house? I'd hate to see you pass it up because once you need it and you dont get it, you are going to kick yourself for it....

i think you should get it! you will regret it if you don't.

i had no clue in the world about the 'bad luck' thing until i came on here. we have tons of baby stuff and we're not pregnant yet. i believe in superstitions, but like you, whatever it takes, you/i will have a child.

Even if you can't - i'm sure once you purchase it - you can possibly give it in pieces as gifts to close friends...etc..

We went through something similar & we agreed that it was best to pass it up. I could not have it in my house knowing I am not PG. I am supersticious with stuff like that. I don't even have an item of clothing in my house for a baby (unless it is stuff our nephew's use when they come to visit).

Duuuude get it. You can't pass it up. Just store it somewhere else. Seriously you will be kicking youself when you get the BFP and you didn't get it.

get it! i think you will kick yourself if you don't. whether you get your BFP this cycle, the next, or sometime in the future, you WILL be a mommy - and get to use all that cool furniture!!

I definitely wouldn't. I bought some stuff when I was about 10 weeks pregnant and miscarried shortly after. The stuff I bought just serves as a horrible reminder of the fact that I'm not pregnant and makes me sad.

I don't think I would. But maybe you can put into storage and that way you won't have to see it all the time.

I would say buy it. You are going to have a child, it's just a matter of when. You will need baby furniture - again, is just when. Store it at someone's house, have someone pick it up and store it for you and don't look at it. You are soo going to be kicking yourself when you DO need it.

If by chance you pass this up, I might be interested.

I ordered my glider and ottoman right before my BFP. It was being discontnued.

I would get it. It sounds like a steal.
Just make sure it's definitely what you want. Maybe browse online a little to make sure you're not jumping the gun.

I would NOT buy furniture before even getting pregnant... it's almost bizarre to me...

If you have the storage space for it -- go for it! You will have a baby one way or another and you might as well get a good deal
