Anyone else surprised at how level-headed they are?

While my Adventures in TTC have not been as severe as others, it has certainly been a roller coaster with a lot of unexpected bumps.

I am really surprised at how pragmatic and rationale I have been. Perhaps because it's all still so surreal, even almost 6 months in, but everything is not as difficult to deal with as I thought it would be. When I know I am out for the cycle, I just feel-- ok, on to the next instead of being devastated. The only thing that still gets to me, is finding out others have gotten pg. And even that, I think is just human nature. Oh, and the having to spend more money for more rounds of OPks and vitamin supplements, etc.

Anyone else?

I think overall I have been very level headed about the whole situation. There were definitely a few times that I cried and was very upset but after 15 cycles I guess you are bound to have a few of those. I have spent a ton of money on HPTs, OPK's, CBEFM, Vitamins, and the VIP subscription to FF at least 3 different times(I almost didn't do it this month but I did). In then end all I want is a healthy baby and that will happen in time.

I actually have been the complete opposite. I am normally a very rationale level-headed person and since seeing the RE, I've been an emotional mess. I've been so anxious and actually have had a few panic attacks. At one point I'd start to cry for no reason! I'm trying to get back to my logical side! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sidenote: Good for you for staying level headed about this! Chat Icon Chat Icon Maybe you can pass some logic my way!!!Chat Icon

It does amaze me & especially when I get comments that I am so strong. I think my reasoning is,I need to be. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to control or change the situation I am in. After a year of disappointments & many tears, all I want is a blessing from god to complete our family. In the end, it ultimately is out of our hands Chat Icon

I am also strong & reserved at times for DH. I know this was a huge blow to his mindset (he never thought this would happen). He can take things in stride but likes to be to himself. I can see that this whole TTC & IF is truly affecting him now. Chat Icon

My emotions are sometimes stable and sometimes all over the place when it comes to TTC. Some days I am calm and rational and others I am an anxious mess. I think there are more anxious than rational days though. I guess that's what a year of trying will do to you.

I can be calm and rationale until about 10DPO.Chat Icon Chat Icon
Some months I am fine and others I am a mess. Right now I am very positve but I can't promise I will be that if the IUI this cycle fails.

I'm totally with you on this. I could have written what you said word for word.

I think this also has to do with the fact that we have not been trying as long as some others. I think if DH and I had been trying, REALLY TTC for the last 16 months than I'd be more emotional.

The 2ww is killer for me. Its the unknown. Once AF comes, I've been handling it fairly well, but I don't know how many more months I've got to stay calm or rationale...and we're only on month 4!

I think people on the outside would say I'm levelheaded, but I don't really feel that way about it. We really haven't been trying for very long - got pg first cycle trying in January but then had a miscarriage. Waited on cycle after the mc and now it's our first TTC. I'm feeling slightly tense now that O is probalby approaching, but I probably think about it ALL DAY LONG! Chat Icon
