Did anyone not take prenatal's while TTC?

Why do they recommend you taking them?

Do they help you get pregnant??

I'm very new to all this, and very clueless Chat Icon

Re: Pre-natal's

We are TTC and I take them on and off.
I feel that it is your choice to take them or not. I don't think that Pre-natal's help you get pregnant but they provide you and the baby when you do become pregnant with the neccessary vitiamns that both of your bodies will need. If you decide not to take them and become pregnant your doctor that you go see will write you up a perscription for them at that point. Again it is really your choice.

I hope that I helped you out. If you have any other questions you can FM
me.

Re: Pre-natal's

I took a regular multivitamin when TTC. My OB/GYN recommended taking a multivitamin with folic acid at least 3 months before TTC. I started taking prenatals when I got a BFP.

Every doctor is different. Some recommend taking multivitamins before TTC and others write prescriptions for prenatals for women thinking about TTC.

Folic acid is good to take before TTC b/c it helps to prevent neural tube defects.

Re: Pre-natal's

My pre-natals are prescriptions - Vitafol - no side effects at all.

Re: Pre-natal's

Folic acid is important to not only the baby, but also women's health in general. That is the vitamin they want you to take, for the most part. You should avoid vitamin A, as that can cause birth defects.
