Name something funny that happened....

on your wedding day.

I'll start...

We had an outdoor ceremony on the water and during the vows there was this little boat about to get swamped so they had to, despite their obvious thoughtful reluctance, start their little put-put-put motor to get back in the inlet. We all just laughed. It made the whole thing that much more "real"

My wedding morning was a disaster due to a very irresponsible vendor that was a no show with no phone call or anything

But aside from that, I can't think of anything funny that actually happened, but rather something that almost happened.

My parents are divorced and at the time just my father was remarried, well my mother goes into the bathroom in the bridal suite to get dressed and when she came out, my step-sister looked at her and said "Oh my g-d, my mother (my stepmother) is wearing the same dress today!" I thought it was hysterical, but it turned out that she had decided she didn't like the dress and bought something else the day before the wedding.

Man, how I would have loved to see that!

One of our limos got stuck in the MUD at Old Westbury Gardens, causing the limo driver to ask our GMs and the GROOM to get out of their limo to try to PUSH the other limo onto solid ground in their TUXEDOS. When that didn't work, all 12 of us crammed into the other 8 passenger limo. You can imagine how tight at cramped we were, but we made the best of it. This was just one more reason why we feel blessed to have the best, most calming and easy-going bridal party ever!

The ride made us all a bit wrinkled for later pics, ceremony & reception, and uncomfortable for the ride .... and thank goodness no one got covered in mud. We were a little late getting to the hall for pics, but it wasn't the major disaster that it could have been.

My youngest flower girl was feeling so nervous (she was 3 1/2) that she threw up at about 7 am after she got to my house.

After the ceremony, she fell asleep on the 30 minute trip to the hall-she kept nodding of. It was just so cute, she was already pooped and we hadn't even partied yet!

I got married at City hall in Manhattan.

As we were leaving city hall we got bombared with asian tourist taking pictures of us. I have no idea why they were so excited to see us. I wasn't in a wedding dress. Just a plain white summer dress. One couple from the group even posed with us. I wish I would have thought to take a picture of them with us lol. Good times.

During the blessing of the rings at church, the priest blessed our rings with so much water that it soaked the front of my dress...big huge water spots...
On the video DH gives me the "Don't worry, it's ok" look and I look down like 5 times at my dress thinking it's probably ruined from the water...
Luckily it dried without any staining...the video is really funny though!!

We decided to throw the bouquet at the church as opposed to the reception. All of our guests were gathered at the steps and when I threw it, it landed on DH's MALE cousin's chest.

Everyone laughed and clapped for him. He turned very red.

After my dad walked me down the aisle he didnt know what to do, I had a very very long train, and he didnt want to walk 3-4 pews back to walk around it, so he just jumped over it..I didnt know why eveyone was laughing until after the ceremony when my mom told me.

When dh dove under my dress to get the garter he litterally slammed his head into the floor, no one could see it, but I noticed his lack of motion and got scared, when he came out with garter in hand, he had a very large bruise on his forehead, that lasted our entire honeymoon.

At the end of my reception someone crapped their pants..I guess they were just that drunk, I dont know..but you can see on the video I am dancing with my mom and maid of honor, the 3 of us look at each other, make faces and run across the dance floor toward the bridal suite to get away.

oh and my sister in laws boyfriend thought you could only get drinks during cocktail hour, so he got trashed the first hour, and stalked the camera all night with his crazy dance moves.

I almost tripped trying to walk up the steps to the altar. It's only funny because I didn't actually fall

Our bridal party snuck into another wedding and went up the bride and groom and congratulated them!!

At the house, after all the girls and I got up from taking a picture, my train was on my arm and when I moved to get up I kissed my train. So their was a light marking of my lips. No one could notice, but I knew it was there.

At church, when I got up to the alter my wonderful DH tried to look down the top of my dress

In church we did the Jewish tradition of breaking of the glass. After DH stepped on the glass my Jewish family yelled out Mazel Tov and my DH yells out Matzo Ball

At the reception, when it came time for DH to get the garter he went underneath my dress and I guess missed my legs and wound up crawling underneath the chair

And my favorite part at the cake cutting he didnt realize how close his arm was to the candles on the table around the cake and almost put his sleeve on fire

Oh it was such a great day. We laughed all day long

My husband said 'wafully wedded wife'... it was so cute...

And my MIL picked up the taper candle and turned the candle upside down instead of using the long match type thing to light her candle in our unity candle--- our pics of that look so weird...

My neice (our FG) was 3.5 at the time and still working on potty training, for the wedding we kept her in diapers just in case. So before the ceremony they started lining up the bridal party and the only ones left in the bridal suite were me, my mom, my dad, and my neice. It was actually kind of awkward since my parents are divorced but they were both walking me down. All of a sudden my neice realizes that she has to "go" so my mom rushes her in to the bathroom real quick, luckily we had a private bathroom in the suite. When she was done she comes running back out, throws herself on one of the couches and flings her legs up in the air so her bare bottom is smiling back at me. I just cracked (pun intended) up laughing, it relieved all of my anxiety!!

Another cute story is when Kevin and I were cutting the cake and when we started to feed each other my almost 2 y/o nephew walked up to us, he wanted some too!!

Our priest was a drunk Irish guy who who couldn't find the pages of particular scripture, etc.

When he said DH's name he would check after saying, "It IS George, right?"

When he drank from the chalice before communion he got WAYYY into it for like a full 20 secs. with huge gulps of wine.

AND one of the groomsmen brough a min fart sound machine

We were cracking up the whole mass.

I threw the bouquet in the chandelier after the MD warned me about it! I guess it happens a lot at the Watermill! My photographer missed it of course but one of my friends actually got a picture of it going in. It was great!

One of my BM's dropped her boquet in the water while we were taking pictures- we were on a dock and it was before the wqedding started. A boater with a dinghy had to fish it out and the limo driver dried it off.

I was an hour late because I got hungry and went to the DD drive thru in my wedding gown. After I finished my muffin, I walked in everyone looked at me like I was nuts. I said I was sorry but there was not enough coffee for everyone.

During the ceremony DH had to use matches to light a candle and almost set the chuppah on fire. After that the Rabbi suggested he find a lighter. He screamed (in the temple) does anyone have a lighter?

our priest had only performed 2 other ceremonies in English before... he was off the boat from Poland.

He forgot to say "you may now kiss the bride".
My sister (MOH) leaned in and whispered "ahem...you may now kiss the bride"...
The priest got this horrified, shocked look on his face and said, "No no, I do not kiss the bride!?!? "
We all stood there for a sec, not sure what to do...


then Dh and I just looked at each other, smirked, and kissed anyway.

It's really funny, now that I think of it... can't wait to see it on video!

oh I forgot one!! Dh forgot to kiss me!!!! The priest said it, and dh just turns around and starts walking back up the aisle, I had to pull him back and remind him.

The only thing i can think of is when i went to put the ring on dh's hand'But' on the wrong hand..LOL

I started to put DH's ring on the wrong finger till the deacon said something to me, everyone in the church laughed--lol
