all i have done is clapped like a maniac in front of her since she was like 6months-she is 9 months now and still stares at me!  so no clapping here yet but she is more interested in crawling, pulling up and doing little tricks like "so big"
for some reason i just am dying for her to clap!

DD just started at 10 1/2 months.
Same here.
I knew he could do the motion because he's always banging things together, but clapping itself has escaped him until recently.

No. He loves when I clap my hands though and we "practice" with his hands but he does not do it on his own.

DS is almost one and he still doesn't clap. He waves with his full arm, but doesn't open close hand wave yet. He does point at objects, transfers objects from hand to hand, crawls like a champ and pulls up on everything.

DD started clapping the day after new years (6 months) BUT she only claps when she wants to - I think she has only clapped maybe 2 or 3 times when I ask her to.

DD just started a week or so ago...she doesn't always do it when we ask though. But anytime she'd do something we wanted we'd say, "yeaaa" & clap our hands for her.

DS claps his hands on his thighs when we clap its so funny. He waves though (when he feels like it) and has been picking up small items using a pincer grasp since like 7 months (doctor said it was early but since DS likes to eat, he figured out its the best way to get puffs in his mouth quickly

Gavin isnt clapping but he can "high 5" on command..he can low 5 too..he's almost 9 months.

DD doesn't clap at 9 months yet, but she crawled at 7.5 months. I'm not worried...she does a lot of other great things.

6mo for dd, but she sat up a little later, and looks as tho she may never crawl cause it is just not her thing
9 mo for ds, but he sat up early, crawled on time.
I know a baby who walked at 10 mo but still needed ot, pt, and speech. He's very bright, too. Our children all have different qualities. Different skills are mastered at different times....We, as moms have to try to keep it all in perspective.
Its hard not to worry.

usually they figure out that they can make noise by banging 2 things together first..then they realize that they can make a noise by clapping too...

mine have done it on command for a long while--dk when--I dk how you girls remember these things..I am bad with writing it down.
They are all diff. as soon as you say they do not do somethin they start the next day!
I am sure u play alot of music when u do--just jumpand clap...or start by giving two cake pans to bang.
