My First TTC ?

AF came yesterday, so this will be our first official/unofficial month trying..

Question - although I'm sure this has been asked before so i will apologize in advance:

on Several O calculators, it has said that 3/25-3/30 will be my most fertile days.

Which day(s) should we BD?

Which day is my actua O day?

Which O calculator do you ladies use and recommend?

Well let me ask you. How long are your cycles. A "typical 28 day cycle" has you Oing on day 14. Most doctors will recommend in the begining just trying every other day on day 10 to day 20. After a couple of months if that hasn't worked you may want to try Ovulation Predictor kits. These will give you a peak reading about 24-36 hours before you O. Then you try that night and the next day (and maybe the next.) The goal is to try a few times before you ovulate. Trying after you O is not really going to work unless you are like an hour after you O. Sooo If you O on day 14 you want to try on day 13 and 14... or try the every other day method and you technically have covered all your bases. Sperm can live for like 3 days and at the most 5 days inside of you. I personally thing it is probably more like 2 days.. but who knows. Good Luck. I hope your stay here is short.

Hi and welcome! Don't be so hard on yourself I ask 100000000 questions and i'm a paramedic...TTC is way more confusing then one thinks. In a typical 28 days it's day 14. You count from the day AF comes 14 days and you should O. I have a 34-36 day cycle so I count 14-20 days from my first day of AF and we BD everyday or everyother day depending on our work sched. I think if you BD atleast every other day from day 14-20 you would be more then fine or if you can't then day 12-16 would be good. I use mymonthlycycle.com and I find it helps. It reprograms your cycle when you input your period and gives predictions. You can also set up e-mail reminders so around my O day Joe and I both get an email reminder to have sex. It's cheesy but he always gets so excited to see the e-mail. Good Luck and again welcome!!!!!

Also to make a suggestion, OPKs will take a lot of the guesswork out of estimating when you O. We went a few months just by estimating when I ovulated but when nothing happened I knew I needed some help and bought the OPKs. Good luck!!!!!!

ITA with all this but i have to add that an OPK will predict your LH surge and the peak reading will be 24 to 36 hours before you O, not days

this is exactly what i did. when BDing every other day didn't work for three cycles, i used an OPK (and preseed b/c i didn't have a lot of CM) for my fourth cycle and it worked like a charm.

I agree. Don't try to figure anything out, just buy a pack of digital opk's.
