Improving BM....
So I know that this is a topic which has probably been beat to death, but....
Besides Mother's Milk & drinking lots of fluids... what other things can I take/do to improve my milk quantity?

i eat oateal every day for breakfast and take 5-6 pills of fenugreek a day.

my OB swears by Sam Adams beer - the darker, the better! Something about the hops being very good for milk production.

Oatmeal will work too.
Also, the more you nurse, the more milk will come in.

I've been having oatmeal every morning for breakfast... I love it!
Fenugreek huh? I am going to have to make another stop @ GNC and pick some up. BTW - I don't know if this is normal practice, but when I went and got the mother's milk tea, the guy gave me 10% off....
He says... I assume from your purchase you are nursing?
I say: Yes
He says... Well then that entitles you to 10% off!

How much are you getting now? I remember you having such an awesome supply from the beginning!
I didn't eat differently or take anything. I just pumped between feedings. Once DS started sleeping through the night, I was still pumping during the night to increase my freezer supply.

It *****... with everything that went on with her reflux, i slacked on pumping, so now i'm only getting about 3 oz AT BEST per pump session...  (and that's usually the first pump of the day... subsequent sessions don't yield as much... :(
I am trying to get as much BM out for as long as I can, and if it means me taking a couple of extra supplements or what have u.... then that's what it will be.

Fenugreek has helped me so much, I take 3 pills (610mg) 3x a day.
Fenugreek as an herb has such a strong aroma.... do you find that the smell comes up on you during digestion?
I had that issue with fish oil capsules, and had to stop taking them - I couldn't deal with the smell....

Yes, I smell like maple syrup! Its not unpleasant but it does get to me every once in a while. Im kinda sick of smelling it so I have decreased the amount I take now

The ladies on fertility friend swear by Guiness to increase milk supply. I don't like beer so I just incrase fluids and eat cherrios. Seems to work every time.

Besides Fenugreek, there's More Milk Plus (Motherlove.com). I used them and liked them. I also use Mother's Milk tea and another one. (breastfeedingwomen.com). I eat Cheerios every morning too but mostly because I like them.

I made sure I pumped every morning before a feeding. Then two hours after that first feeding.
