When You Get THE BFP...

how will you announce?

Will you tell everyone right away?
Wait through the 1st trimester?
A little of both?

When it happens for us, I know I'll have to tell my mom immediately. Close friends a couple of weeks later, and the rest probably pretty close to the 12th week (if all goes according to plan ).

I'm such a talker, it's going to be hard to not shout it from the rooftops the day BFP comes my way!

orignally I was going to wait until after the ultrascreen (11 weeks) to tell everyone...

told mom day after my BFP...

I had a red spotting scare in week 5, and told a friend then.... becuase I needed support.

we saw the heart beat at 7 weeks.

at 9 weeks, we told DH's parents.
I also told a couple more friends at 8-10 weeks.

the majority of people will still find out after the 11 week ultrascreen (next week).

I found it hard to keep my lips sealed....

It all depends. We truly would like to wait it out bc we want to make sure things are ok. Of course, it is easier said then done now. Since we have been TTC for so long, I think that once we are, I will be glowing so much, I might give it away.

We are going to wait a little after 12 weeks to tell everyone (friends and family). We will wait to tell DS as well.

I went to Cafepress and designed a special shirt for DS to wear to my ILs house. I am going to have him wear it at the dinner table and see how many people notice what it says.

I have a desktop picture I made to put on DH laptop but I think I may not be able to hold it in long enough for him to get home and see it lol.

Since we are currently undergoing IVF, our immediate families know what's going on. We've been keeping them up to date on my progress and when we think I may have my retrieval and transfer. We've been somewhat vague in when we will definately know if the IVF worked or not, but they pretty much know we'll know two weeks from transfer. So for our parents and siblings, they will know right away, the rest of the world will find out between 13-14 weeks.

With all 3 of my pregnancies I planned on waiting un til 12 weeks, and ended up telling within a few days of each BFP! I couldn't hold in my excitement!

I just asked DH the same question after reading this. We both would like to wait untill the 12 week point to tell the world. I would prolly tell our parents after we hear the heartbeat. ITs so hard because with my BFP the first time i told everyone right away and to this day some people either dont know about the MC, or continue to ssay sorry for your loss. Im a RN and it is hard to hide something like this because of course i wont be lifiting and pulling patients so im sure people will catch on. Then on the flip side im sure ill be so excited once again.. will i actually be able to hold it in.

I will tell family and close freinds/work people right away.
I wont tell bosses etc til after 12 wks

With DD I called my immediate family immediately.

This time around, I sent out an email to my family with a pic of DD wearing a bib that said, "Im going to be a big sister", then called each person so I could listen while they read the email.

Here's my "plan" I want to give Joe a Green Bay Packers bib and the pg test to tell him. I wan to wait until we have our first appointment to tell our parents and immediate family. I think I'll buy Gus a shirt that says something or tie an ultrasound pic to his collar to tell my mom. She is so in love with our dog that I want him to be the one to "tell" her. Grandparents and parents I would like to do something crafty. I want to wait and tell our bosses when we are at 10-12wks and then we'll tell co-workers. I know this is a dream and in reality i'll crack as soon as I know we are pg, but it's nice to have a plan/dream

I will not announce it right away. My plan is to hopefully tell our parents around 8 weeks and then tell some close friends. I suspect that around 11 weeks everyone will start to know.

I will tell my mom as soon as I find out. As for everyone else I will wait till at least 11-12 weeks.

Well (God Willing) I'll get mine this weekend. OF COURSE you all will know...right away......
I have a gift bag with LOVE on the front. Baby items in it like bibs, I love my Daddy, and white booties, and a Bottle.

Then a little box to put the HPT in, I get up before DH to wake him up, so I'm just waiting to see my BFP so that I can surprise hime at breakfast......

Then I'll try to not tell anyone til we see a heartbeat, after 2 m/c we want to see the hearbeat.....but the OB says that we'll be able to see it at 6 weeks.
