I'm sitting here crying...
And I'm not a crier!
I just finished my doctoral dissertation, and my last step is writing my dedication. I cannot write it without bawling! It's been such a long process and I can't believe it's over.
Here's what I have so far:
To my husband, who has been my rock throughout this process. You have been so understanding of the sacrifices we made in so many ways for me to finish this degree. I love you for your constant support, encouragement, and unwavering faith in my ability to do anything I attempt.
To my mother, who throughout my life has been my support system and best friend. You inspired me to follow in your footsteps and work in this field, and you deserve to share this achievement with me. I could not have done it without you.
Any poetic sounding words to add to it?

Congrats!! Your dedication is wonderful. 
I remember when my sister was writing her dissertation - we *both* cried when she finished it - and then partied after she successfully defended it. Woohoo! It's an amazing accomplishment.

I totally understand how you feel. DH has sacrificed as well so that I can be a full-time student. We are very lucky girls
