Does anyone have this camera? How do I change the setting to take black and white pics?

I have that camera well the dsc-w80 and I dont see anywhere in the manual where you can do black and white photos.
do you have that model?

Yes, that the model I have. I don't have the manual with me so I can't look it up. The only thing I can see if that you can change the color to "partial color" which makes some of the pic in color and some in B&W.

I have this camera & just looked in the manual. There is no way to take a black & white picture. You can do partial color if you edit the picture once you take it.

I have a SONY Cybershot 7.2 Megapixles....you can change to black and white.
Turn the dial to the "SCN" function and hit menu...choose PFX which will be along the bottom.
You can then choose B&W or Sepia.

i personally would shot a color picture, then once you have the picture on your computer, you can always make it black n white, or spedia or any special effect...

That's what I would do, as well. If it's in color, you can always do that cool effect where you make everything B/W except for one particular item, like a rose or something. You have so many more options if the original is in color.

I agree with Tom and Shawn. My photographer took some pictures in black and white that I would have loved in color. No changing that once it is done.
